Makerere University may soon dispose of the once glorified maize mill after the investment arm of the university refused to take it over, three years after its closure. URN has learnt that the University has finalised plans to sell off Italian machines acquired in the early 1990s to produce high-quality maize flour for the students in various halls of residence. Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, says that the space is needed to serve as a restaurant since food kiosks had been razed down.
