The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) and the National Environment Management Authority, (NEMA) have been holding ESIA public hearing in Rakai, Kakumiro and Mubende districts.
The decision to block the operations of the group followed reports that members of the congregation had shunned the recently concluded Measles-Rubella and polio immunization exercise. It is alleged that the group mobilized their members to reject the exercise saying Jesus Christ was never immunized and registered by anyone.
Museveni says that subsistence farming has presented itself as a curse, which lasts for generations and if the current generation does not deviate from the practice, the larger community will starve due to reduced food supply. He described those still practising subsistence farming as enemies of progress.
