The clashes were triggered by the death of one Matayo Wulimbwa Mutsunga, a resident of Kyoho II village in Kasese district, who was attacked by unknown people on Monday evening. Eyewitnesses, who preferred anonymity, told URN that Mutsunga was accused of participating in cattle thefts in Kabonero Sub County.
The beneficiaries are Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. Funding will also go toward the procurement of essential medical supplies, including testing kits and to train health workers.

The police had earlier arrested one of their colleagues identified as Mubakari Kuloba who was found carrying two passengers on his motorcycle. But in the process of evading arrest, Kuloba lost control and knocked a tree, leaving him with injuries, which sparked the protest.
