Development partners have called for equity in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccine saying underdeveloped countries should not be made to wait longer for the vaccines.
Jude Wandera, the Spokesperson of UPDF in the Elgon and Bukedi sub-regions identified the deserter as 45-year-old Francis Musau Kapchekweko. According to Wandera, Kapchekweko deserted the army several years ago.

The councillors are accusing both the technical and the political wing of influencing the recruitment process. According to Longole, the suspect had been picked up from Kangole town council for attempted rape. "While at Kangole Police station one of our officers said he knew the suspect and that he wouldn’t but shortly after, the suspect jumped and grabbed a gun from the officer and took off," he explained.
The team of seven athletes comprises six active para-athletics athletes who include Fred Masisa, Wilfred Ocen, Al Bashir Bwaga, Alex Wilson Legu and Peace Oroma however there will also be one support player who runs with Fred Masisa to guide him. Masisa falls under classification TF/11-13 which is for athletes with visual impairment.
