According to Paison Byomuhangi, Kasiro village LC1 Chairman, Ahereza joined Tugumisirize in a group of others at Keti Ninsiima’s bar and started drinking alcohol. However, the two developed a misunderstanding and started fighting. In the process, Ahereza pushed Tugumisirize down hard and she died instantly. Byomuhangi says that when Tugumisirize died, Ahereza took off, but other revelers chased him. He was caught and beaten to death in revenge.
