The district with five government-aided secondary schools and 1 tertiary institution has only 93 filled positions against the 367 approved staff ceiling, leaving 274 vacancies unfilled.
Mission Samuel, the Chief Security Officer of Kyambogo University, in the eve of graduation on Monday told Uganda Radio Network that, they received the information that there are some people who are organizing to disrupt the graduation function, and as a result, they had to tighten the security at the University.
John Bosco Rusoke, the Fort Portal City Deputy Town Clerk says it is not only teachers who have gone omonths without their payment, but other civil servants were equally going through the same. He however said the city authorities were doing everything possible in partnership with the ministries of finance and of public service to solve the problem.
