The Chairperson of Uganda's organising Committee, Peter Ogwang, told journalists on Friday that Rwanda and South Sudan have confirmed that they shall not be taking part in the games.
Musa Ecweru, the State Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees told journalists at Media Center on Friday that nine billion will be used to buy relief items, 10 billion to fix affected roads and other transportation needs like buying boats where they are needed and about 200 million to fix metrology machines affected by the rains.
A heavy down pour caused multiple landslides in the villages of Namasa, Naposhi and shukururu in Bushika sub-county of Bududa district on Tuesday killing 4 people, injuring 5 and displacing over 6,000 others. So far, rescue teams have retrieved seven bodies while more than 30 people are still unaccounted for.
