Caleb Alaka, the lawyer representing former LRA rebel commander, Thomas Kwoyelo, has demanded that government should pronounce itself on an earlier application for amnesty by the war crimes suspect.
The much anticipated trial of Thomas Kowyelo, the former director of operations in the Lord’s Resistance Army rebel group kicked off today before the War Crimes Division of the High court in Gulu. Kwoyelo was driven to the court amidst tight security by heavily armed police officers.
The High Court in Tororo has this morning dismissed with costs the election petition filed by the former ICT Minister Aggrey Awori against Kevina Taaka, the Busia Municipality Member of Parliament due to lack of sufficient evidence.
