Doctor Grace Nambatya, the Director of Research at NCRI says they are going to carry out clinical trials on the late Anatooli’s herbal medicine combinations, with a view of preserving his knowledge and promoting the use of natural therapies for various illnesses.
Teopista Nassali aged 80 years and Protazio Mugenyi who is 62 years, both residents of Mabaale in Kabira sub county, Kyotera district indicate that they have since been receiving monthly stipends of 20,000 shillings to cater for their basic necessities of life, but the money can no longer do much given the rising prices.

Kyotera District Health Officer Dr Edward Muwanga says that the deceased is a female health worker who is suspected to have contracted the virus while executing her duties within the last three weeks. He said that the health worker could have contracted the virus while attending to cases at the outpatient department –OPD wards.
According to reports, many of the staff at the hospital are scared of attending to patients due to the apparent increased risk of contracting the virus in the line of duty. On average, the hospital records ten positive COVID-19 cases each day.
Robert Ggaliwango, a Bodaboda cyclist at the Nkoni stage in Lwengo district says that several touts have been deployed to attract passengers who wish to cross into other districts regardless of the restrictions. He says that the touts sneak passengers into hidden taxis, before embarking on their journeys through porous routes.
The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga announced the death of the legislator during plenary, saying she had succumbed to COVID-19. The speaker, who led legislators to hold a moment of silence for their colleague, said she would defer the norm of holding a special session for the deceased up to a time when the situation allows.
Dr Edward Muwanga, the District Health Officer says that the district executive committee together with the health department resolved that Thursday will now be a special treatment day for elderly persons in government health facilities within the area.
The two institutional quarantine centres the district was operating in Nabigasa and Kakuuto sub-counties are currently closed; leaving the area with no facility where Covid-19 suspects can be admitted for monitoring.
