The meeting resolved that negative Covid-19 test results from national accredited laboratories in the respective EAC Partner States be recognized by all national authorities.
The ministers also agreed that the countries EAC should implement the EACPASS for prompt verification of Covid-19 test results and vaccination certificates.
One such commitment is the mutual recognition of the COVID-19 test results by the countries provided the test is done from within a member country by an accredited laboratory. However, some of the partner states, including Uganda, are reverting to their national policies in the wake of a sharp rise in new infections.

According to the budget framework, the 10 member states will jointly contribute USD 109,000 (2.94%), about 387 million Ugandan shillings of the total budget. The EASF Peace Fund is expected to provide USD 60,000 (1.62%), and the African Peace and Security Architecture – APSA will remit the lion share of up to USD 2,009,000 about 7.142 billion shillings (54.19%).
