Some of the districts that have since reported stock out of covid-19 vaccine include the Northern Ugandan districts of Kitgum and Lira, Tororo, Masaka, Hoima, and Mbale among others.
The Entebbe Warehouse has 8,000 pallets, space for the stock, while the new warehouse will have 30,000 pallet positions. The cold chain unit at the new warehouse will also be five times bigger than the one at Entebbe. The cold chain unit is where vaccines are kept.
In the report, Labeja is also tasking Gulu City Council to pay him nine months’ accumulated subsidy totaling to 8,190,000 shillings and 1,590,000 shillings’ emolument for a month, and that his former deputy Pauline Lukwai also owes the council shillings 21,048,000 which includes salary arrears, subsidy and emoluments.
