The plea comes just a few days after Kampala Capital City Authority unveiled Planned Infrastructure Interventions to be undertaken by the Directorate of Engineering and Technical Services during the 2021/2022 financial year. Under the intervention, KCCA intends to improve 69 kilometres of roads in the city, thanks to support from the African Development Bank.
During a council meeting held on Thursday, the councillors expressed concern about the delayed recruitment of parish chiefs, which could affect the program. They argued that the parish chiefs should have been recruited by October 30.
The abattoir has not undergone any major renovation since it was constructed over 20 years ago. It lacks a drainage system, running water system and electricity.
