The Chinese investor is constructing a USD 200 refinery covering 300 acres of land in the four villages of Alupe, Agoriat, Akipenet, Amagoro in Mawero parish, Buteba sub-county.
The operators say that since the first lockdown, cost of the fuel they consume for a particular route has been increasing, yet they cannot increase the fares beyond the current rates.
The numbers have also been affected by the changing lifestyle among Ugandans and economic structure of the country, among others, which have seen people reduce their reasons for travel.
At Lira main market, hand washing points have been installed at all main entrances but lack water, the traders and other people accessing the market do not wear masks. The situation is similar in other places like shops and supermarkets and the parks.
"The Notices to Airmen -NOTAM usually takes effect after 48 hours so the earliest the exercise can kick off is Saturday night," Dr. James Eyul, in charge of Port Health at Entebbe airport said.
