Christopher Opiyo Ateke, the incoming Gulu District Chairman says there is a very big difference between the running budget and the one for the next financial year and that the operation of the district will not be easy.
According to Lapyem, the district initially used to allocate a shillings 63,000,000 of their budget on wages and facilitation for district councilors in each financial year but with the number increasing from 23 to 42 leaders implies that their entitlement would require shillings 132,000,000 translating to a shillings 69,000,000 funding gap.
The Lamwo Resident District Commissioner James Nabinson Kidega says during the pursuit, the security had a brief gunfire exchange with the armed rustlers believed to be eight in number in the areas of Lolum and Ore-4 hills bordering Madi Opei on Tuesday morning.
