In 2010 OBR supported by Government through the Ministry of Gender, the Uganda AIDS Commission and AIDS Information Centre with support from UNFPA embarked on measures to address negative cultural customs. These included promotion of maternal health, prevent gender-based violence and HIV/AIDS, elimination of teenage pregnancies and advocate for family planning practices.
