The girls aged between 14 to 18 years were intercepted at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, where they were due to board their next flight to the emirates. The girls believed to be from Napak district in Karamoja sub-region were subsequently handed over to Ugandan authorities in Busia.
The two are said to have clashed when the deceased confronted the suspect, whose identity has been withheld because he is a minor accusing him of dating his girlfriend. It is alleged that the suspect picked up a knife and stabbed the deceased in the chest during the ensuing brawl.
They warn that unless the situation changes within two weeks’ time they will torch university buildings. “For us International students we pay a lot of money. We shall show them in two weeks what it means to respect students as partners,” reads the letter.
