Resident of Isingiro on Monday raided a check point mounted by the police at Kagogo in Ruborogota Sub County accusing the officers of using it to extort money from locals. Ruborogota Local council three chairperson Robert Seguya says that the police check-point had been put in place to restrict the movement of livestock at the time when the district was under a quarantine due to the outbreak of foot and mouth disease.
Moses Muzima, the Isingiro District Police Commander, says minor could have been raped before she was killed. Muzima says they have arrested three people in connection to the incident.
While at Rukoma village in Kasaana Parish Birere Sub-County Isingiro district the two first exchanged blows but the deceased was over powered and suffocated to death in a banana plantation.
Police have arrested the Isingiro district chairperson Jeremiah Kamurali on charges of inciting violence. According to Ivan Nuwamanya, the Rwizi regional police commander, Kamurali is wanted for inciting people to attack refugees in Nakivale refugee camp and grab part of the land that they occupy.
