A ritual takes place this Sunday along the Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)border to reconcile two Alur clans over reprisal killings that took place in pre-colonial times. The ceremony, organized by the Alur Kingdom, is to reconcile the Okoro clan in present-day Zombo District in Uganda, who descended from the 29th Alur King, Alworonga, and the Panduru clan in Mahagi Zone in northeastern DRC, who descended from Alworonga’s brother.
