Over 750 Ugandans that had been trapped in one of South Sudan states are being returned home following an evacuation exercise by the Uganda Peoples Defence Forcesâ€”UPDF. Fred Opolot, the Uganda Foreign Affairs Ministry Spokesperson says 13 buses each carrying 60 people arrived safely in South Sudan capital Juba on Sunday and would be heading home escorted by the UPDF.

There was confusion during the burial of Patrick Etolu, former high jump champion, when leaders clashed on how to spend the money sent by State House to cover burial expenses. The 78-year-old Etolu, who represented Uganda at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne, Australia, died on Christmas Eve at Mulago Hospital after a long illness.
