Kyambogo Council Approves Medical Insurance for Staff kyambogo university

Kyambogo University Council has approved medical insurance scheme to cover medical and surgical expenses for staff. All employees of the University on permanent and contractual terms are to enrol after showing proof of employment with the University. The maximum age for being a member of the medical insurance scheme has been set at 74 years.

Doctors Indefinitely Suspend Industrial Action doctors strike

Dr Ekwaro Obuku, the President of Uganda Medical Association says the UMA executive decided to extend their suspension until further notice as they await a review from government. Dr Obuku says that the body will make an announcement in April, 2018 regarding the matter.

In 2016, PEPFAR supported the provision of life-saving antiretroviral treatment for 853,365 people in Uganda, extended testing and counselling services to more than 8 million people and provided antiretroviral medications for 85,169 pregnant women living with HIV/AIDS to reduce the risk of mother-to-child transmission.
