South Sudan: Global Action Needed to End Humanitarian Crisis south sudan war

Amnesty International has called for urgent and sustained international action to end what it calls horrific human rights violations taking place in South Sudan. In a statement today, Amnesty International says tens of thousands of people have been killed, thousands more subjected to sexual violence, and close to four million displaced since the conflict began exactly four years ago today.

55 Somali Nationals Among Commissioned Officer Cadets updf 1

Fifty-five Somali nationals considered under a bilateral arrangement Uganda and Somalia are among 275 officer cadets commissioned on Thursday. In his speech, President Museveni noted that the concept of crystalizing a national army has not been easy for many countries, hence prompting the intervention of the United Nations which he referred to as outsourced security.
