The Ministry of Internal Affairs wrote to the president notifying him about the expiry of contracts of the board members but received no response. Instead, Internal Affairs Minister General Jeje Odong instructed Mondo to execute the functions of the board as they await a response from the president.
The Ag. Director Citizenship and Immigration Control Cheborion Patrick told the Commission that Mondo has been running the activities alone since March 2017 when contracts of the other members expired.
