Uganda will battle against hosts Egypt, Zimbabwe and the Democratic Republic of Congo in Group A of the tournament which kicks off on Friday in Cairo. The tournament which brings together 24 teams for the first time will run June 21st to July 19th.

A payment scale by the Uganda Prisons service offers skilled prisoners a payment of 1,398 Shillings up from 500 shillings, semi-skilled prisoners are to be given 699 Shillings from 250 Shillings, while non-skilled inmates will get 280 Shillings up from 100 shillings per day. Gratuity for the inmates was also increased from 3,000 to 8,386 Shillings.
CAA’s Director for Safety, Security and Economic Regulations Eng. Ronny Barongo told a committee of parliament today that the clearance for the flight in question was sought by Astral Aviation Services of Kenya indicating that the plane was carrying printed materials to Uganda.
Uganda has 25 fistula surgeons across the country with one surgeon in each of the 13 regional referral hospitals to carry out fistula repairs. Additional surgeons are available in seven private, not-for-profit hospitals. But the shortage has led to a backlog of 200,000 fistula cases, yet an additional 1,900 new cases are recorded every year.
Masaka’s quest for a city status had initially been pushed to 2023.
