Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga, has confirmed that there was a general delay for the last month salary for all SPCs countrywide but money has now been sent to respective regions except Kampala Metropolitan. Enanga explained that salary for KMP SPCs is being withheld because there is verification being done.
At least 2124 people spent their weekend in various police cells after they were arrested for flouting curfew time. Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga, said joint security operations arrested people on roads driving or riding past curfew time while many others were picked from bars.
Michael Longole, the Karamoja Region Police Spokesperson, says the suspects were arrested after concerned drivers in Moroto Taxi Park become suspicious when they approached them to hire a vehicle to drop the children in Ngora in Teso.
Tai Ramadhan, the Pader District Police Commander, says that only 258 out of 291 SPCs in the district were cleared for payment. He says the remaining SPCs will receive their pay once the errors in their documents are cleared.
