The two Congolese Police officers were arrested in Jangokoro Sub County Zombo district as they attempted to foil the construction of a borehole project in Awasi Center Afuda Parish.
To date, security forces have impounded 8,487 bags of charcoal across Karamoja, which have been handed over to the National Forestry Authority (NFA) for further management. They also intercepted 8,029 jerrycans of illicit waragi and 7,900 jerrycans have been disposed of on court orders.

In December 2024, the armed warriors suspected to have come from the Kaabong district raided 25 cows in the Lotisan sub-county, Moroto district. The peace committee tracked the cows up to Kaabong West Sub County where they recovered some.
