Speaking to URN, Dr John Omagino the Executive Director of the Heart Institute said they had finally started construction of a tertiary facility at the 10 acre piece of land located at Naguru hill however while they have already opened two roads to access the facility, they remain with one blind spot which if not opened will affect the ferrying in of emergencies once the hospital is finally opened.
Dr Mutumba Robert who heads the AIDS Control Programme in the Ministry of Health (MOH) revealed that there is declining use with some sections attributing this to fears that the condoms are not of good quality.
Deusdedit Kateregga, the Medical Superintendent said that they currently have a debt of 100 million shilling for the last financial year of 2023/24. Kateregga said that the accumulated arrears are from different suppliers and they do have not enough resources to clear the arrears yet more costs are adding up.
