More than 40 individual farmers have been identified by the District Agriculture Department to benefit from the piggery agribusiness expected to enhance their household income, and improve livelihoods.
Samuel Akera, the LCIII Chairperson said the pastoralists are wandering with an estimated 10,000 animals in the four parishes of Pachilo, Pupwonya, Parwaca and Okidi causing devastation to crops like cassava, rice, groundnuts and maize among others.
The Executive Director of Horyal Investments Holdings Limited, Mohammed Abdi Mohamoud says they have opted for the longer route because the poor roads make it impossible for trucks to access the factory using the shorter routes.
