Muwema who is also Director Legal Affairs at the ACN said Uganda has a batch of laws aimed at averting counterfeits but enforcing the laws has been difficult due to general lack of will by both government and dealers in agricultural inputs.
According to John Paul Mpalanyi, the Kyotera County MP, who is spearheading the campaign, the majority of coffee farmers are worried that the legislation is intended to give more powers to the government to cripple their efforts.
