Between 1996 and 2016, the demand for the fruit has seen tremendous growth expanding by 88.2% in 2016 alone, according to Tridge, a platform that tracks global trade in different goods. In three years, the fruit exports grew by 315% and expanded by Shs 1005.6% in the last five years, Tridge said.
