On Tuesday, a group of legislators from the National Economy Committee accompanied by the Health Minister, Jane Ruth Aceng and Permanent Secretary, Diana Atwiine setup to inspect the construction site of ISHU along the Kampala-Entebbe Road but were turned away by armed Local Defense Unit-LDU and Police personnel.
Aceng says tests done by the Molecular Laboratory in 24 districts are constantly coming out negative and have now resolved to phase out mass treatment in those districts.
A team from Parliament’s National Economy Committee had gone to monitor ongoing works at the 30-acre facility along the Kampala-Entebbe Road. The MPs sought permission from the Health Ministry to visit the site.
