The nurses are attending the nationwide training ahead of the age-wide national Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign which is due to run from the October 16-20 targeting children older than 9 months to under 15 years of age. At the same time, a booster dose of oral polio vaccine will be given to all children younger than five years of age.

For one to have comprehensive knowledge about HIV, they should be able to identify that using condoms consistently and limiting sex to one uninfected partner are two ways of preventing transition. They should also be able to reject common misconceptions that mosquitoes transmit HIV, that sharing food with an infected person transmits infection and knowing that a healthy-looking person can transmit the virus.

URCS suspended operations in Luweero in 2015 after their staff and volunteers abandoned work over lack of funds. The Society’s Office located in Kasana market zone in Luweero was also closed.

Dr Katumba Ssentongo, the practitioners’ council Registrar in a letter dated August 19 told the graduates they can only be registered if they had internship completion certificates, academic transcripts and degree certificates.
