Dr. Yonas T. Woldermariam says that for the first time ever, misinformation during a disease outbreak is forcing WHO to use funds meant to fight the disease and to stop wrong information from getting into the hands of unsuspecting public.
Hassan Babyesiza, the Kasatu Village LC I Chairperson, says about 50 homesteads have been hit by bedbugs. He says the situation has forced some residents to flee their houses and abandon their household items. Some residents interviewed by URN called for quick intervention to stop the bugs from spreading further.
Asked if it had anything to do with the implementation of the Health Minister’s ban on travels in and out of Uganda for people who had visited high risk countries or even Ugandans intending to travel there, CAA Spokesperson, Vianney Luggya, said it was simply a technical problem, which has since been resolved.
