On Monday, the Rotary 9213 District Governor John Magezi Ndamira commissioned the project at Kiweebwa trading centre and said this will help to address the loss of time to look for clean water from distant boreholes as well as risks facing girls.
The Wakiso District Health Officer, Dr. Mathias Lugoloobi said that they will be working with security personnel, local leaders, and Village Health Teams - VHTs to mobilize the communities to take part in the exercise.
The residents say that there is an urgent need for safe water sources to save them from the rampant cases of water-related diseases in the area. The village has one functional borehole.

Dr. Adam Mbayi , in Charge of Kajjansi health center IV, says that ever since the health center was elevated from a health center III to a health center IV they don’t have an ambulance and this has affected them in transporting patients to the referral hospitals like Mulago and Kawempe.

Bukenya has told URN that there is enough evidence to prove that government through the national medical stores delivers all the necessary requirements to its health facilities within the district and therefore demanding for money from patients before they are treated is an offence which is punishable by dismissal.
Bwanika explains that in the situation where government fails to provide the required medical supplies, the health workers have to choose between asking the patients to provide these for themselves and be treated or leaving them go untreated.
