The Ministry of Education and National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) have explained that they cannot do much about pre- entry exams in universities.
The new budget allocation to the sector represents an increment of 504.6 billion from the current financial year 2018/2019 sector budget of 2.78 trillion shillings.
Dr. Isaac Okullo, the Deputy Principal of the College of Health Sciences, Dr. Rose Chalo Nabirye-the Dean of the School of Health Sciences were relieved of their duties for incompetence, while Fatumah Nakatudde-the Deputy College Registrar and Paul Apunyo, a senior Administrative Assistant were dismissed for alleged altering student's marks.
Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, the institution’s Vice Chancellor decried the reduced funding citing that JICA withdrew funding “at a time when East Africa needed it the most.”
