Teachers Rallied to Rollout Revised Curriculum in Acholi Agriculture 1 5

The curriculum has attracted nationwide criticism among members of the public and educationists. Last week, the Parliament of Uganda suspended its implementation after a heated plenary on grounds of inadequate stakeholder consultation. They said that the schools were not adequately prepared to roll out the new curriculum.

Education Minister Moots Countrywide Tour on School Fees 1 3

Mrs Museveni said this during a meeting with secondary school’s headteachers, principals of Business Technical and Education Training institutes and heads of Primary Teacher Colleges. The meeting was held at the closure of the national school selection and placement exercise held at the Uganda Manufacturers Association conference hall today. The exercise began on Thursday, February 13, 2020.

Students Shun PTC Placements - Principals 1 2

George William Kaate, the Principal of Rakai PTC blames this development on lack of career guidance, counseling and support for the students. He says that although students make choices for PTC's, they are often convinced to change their options, when they perform better at the end of the year.This leaves many classrooms in some PTCs almost empty.
