Alex Kakooza, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education says throughout the lockdown and after the partial reopening, they have been receiving reports from different areas of the country about grabbing of school land.
He says majority of the participants said that their children’s learning was grossly affected whereby 39.4% reported children didn’t access learning materials whereas others said because of the structure of their households their children at 18.4% cannot focus while studying from home.
Speaking at the Ministry of Education Sector review, Education Development partners led by the Deputy Belgium Ambassador to Uganda Koen Van Acoleyen asked the ministry to look at the available good practices and innovation from across the world to have a safe full reopening of schools.
