Jeffrey Sachs was the keynote Speaker at a High-Level Dialogue on the theme “Accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals through Leveraging Innovative Financing, the Parish Development Model, and Science and Technology" The dialogue was opened by Prime Minister, Robina Nabanja who later hosted him. During the address at Makerere, Prof Jeffrey Sachs urged Ugandans to prioritize their development before the foreign investors do. "No one cares about your development other than you," he said.
At least 12913 graduated in different fields. Among these, 11016 graduated with Bachelor’s degrees, 1585 Master’s degrees, 156 Postgraduate diplomas, and 24 undergraduate diplomas, while 132 were awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees.
The first cohort obtained the level one certificate of Uganda Vocational Qualifications under the Directorate of Industrial Training, Ministry of Education and Sports after attending the five-month training.
