The Padibe East Sub County LC III Chairperson, Polycap Odoch, says that the deceased was mining sand when she was buried alive inside a pit. She was working together with other women who were also mining sand in different locations.
According to Ojwiya, close to 600 acres part of the 1,400-acres destroyed was ready for harvest while the remaining 800 acres had been earmarked for use as seed cane for the impending planting season.
