The children have been identified as 18-year-old Doreen Nagawa and his ten-year-old brother, Ben Makumbi. They were offsprings of Segawa's fiancee Josephine Namakula, a businesswoman in Mubende town.
Elly Maate, Police Spokesperson for Kigezi region says that Ngabirano had developed domestic wrangles with his family members on December 23,2019 which resulted into a fight. His family members reported him to Bubaare police station for help.
Isabirye reportedly used his shirt to hang himself in the police cells last night, a few hours after he was locked up for stealing a bicycle from a Boda boda rider in Namungalwe trading center on Wednesday afternoon.
Phiona Nabirye, one of the family members narrated how they had breakfast with the deceased. "She expressed no signs of agony whatsoever, but to our shock, we found her hanging with a bed-sheet tied around her neck," noted Nabirye.
The two reportedly had a heated argument over four million Shillings which the deceased’s wife, Hajara Nakisinge is said to have stolen. They have reportedly been bickering for several months over the money until the latest incident which left the wife and the child with severe injuries.
A Catholic Church leader in Lamwo district has committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree branch at the compound of another catechist. 40 year old Catechist Kenneth Olanya attached to Sacred Heart parish Madi Opei in Lamwo district used a binding wire to hang himself from an Acacia tree.
