The police had earlier arrested one of their colleagues identified as Mubakari Kuloba who was found carrying two passengers on his motorcycle. But in the process of evading arrest, Kuloba lost control and knocked a tree, leaving him with injuries, which sparked the protest.
Zainabu Watsemba a farmer from Shanemba village in Bunaporo parish said all her food crops she planted including beans,maize sugar canes are all destroyed. She said she had planted in three gardens but all have been destroyed by rain. She asked government for intervention saying they are badly off.

Apollo Wanasolo, the NRM Chairperson of Bunambatsu parish in Nakatsi Sub County was arrested alongside Augustine Kuloba, the chairman NRM in Nabusera village, allegedly confiscated the registers from Bukusechi and Buchunya primary school, where they had been displayed by the Electoral Commission.

More than 30 people are feared to have been buried by the landslides. Last week, Uganda National Roads Authority-UNRA deployed an excavator to help in the search for the bodies of the landslide victims believed to be trapped underground.
Nambeshe however, says the Office of the Prime Minister abandoned the plan and procured land in Bunambutye Sub County in Bulambuli district to construct houses for the resettlement of the landslide victims.
