In his ruling on Friday, Justice Vincent Emmy Mugabo dismissed the petition on grounds that Engola did not prove that any illegality or offences were committed in the election by Odur or the Electoral Commission.
The decision arises from an application filed on September 14, 2021, by 45 students who sought a halt to the graduation ceremony fixed for September 21 to September 23 2021 because their names were missing from the list of graduands.
The petition was filed by Jacqueline Kobusingye Birungi. Birungi who contested as an independent candidate accuses Nantaba of forging the A-Level results she presented from Mukono Town Academy dated 1998.
But these two petitions were dismissed on the ground that the MPs were never served with the petitions. In the case of Ssegirinya, the presiding judge Henrietta Wolayo held that Kidandala disregarded the directives of the court in regards to serving the petition on Ssegirinya who was then on remand at Kitalya Prisons.
