Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan Police, says the suspects are locked up at Wandegeya Police Station for inciting violence. He declined to divulge details, saying the operation that led to the arrest of the suspects was conducted by KCCA, which handed them to police.
The university lawyers have asked the Staff Appeals Tribunal to re-evaluate the evidence on record and find Dr. Kamunyu guilty of four counts for which he was acquitted by the appointments board, convict him accordingly and dismiss him from university service.
