Dr. Baifa Arwenyo, the Head of the Gynecology Ward at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital revealed that the unit currently receives between 4 to 6 women with the condition on a weekly basis.
She said her late sister was her sole caregiver after they lost their two parents who hailed from Busoga region and that after the demise of their parents, her sister migrated with her to Mbale at a very tender age and she has been under her care since then, including paying for her school fees until she died recently.
The Uganda Episcopal Conference has for the second time selected Masaka Diocese to lead the celebrations on June 03rd, 2021 after missing the opportunity last year following the suspension of the celebrations because of the Coronavirus disease outbreak.
