Dr Albert Byamugisha, the Board chairman of Uganda National Bureau of Statistics, says that Uganda is best placed to host the bureau since the UBOS office in Entebbe was established in 1946 to collect and disseminate statistics for the East Africa Protectorate under the British colonial government.
Festus Luboyera, the Executive Director of the Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) says some of the rivers that flow into the lake are filling up due to the higher rains received particularly in Rwanda, Kenya and Burundi. There are 23 rivers that flow into the lake, eleven of them coming from Tanzania.

Alex Mugoya, a vessel captain with Kalangala Infrastructure Service Maritime Department suggests that the technology used by vessels should be merged with modern GPS technology and echo sounders to help captains navigate the lake with knowledge of items beneath while measuring the distance and depth of the lake.
The Aviators in the two countries will train Ugandan students in cabin crew handling, airport operations, Aviation Security awareness, ticketing and travel, amongst others. Under the partnership, Ugandan aviation students will be taken to Qatar and Ethiopian Aviation Academies for further studies after professional training in Ugandan schools.
