The 30 million shillings project was launched by Gulu District Local Government to green Cwero Primary School in Paicho Sub County in June. It was expected to be completed last month. Under the project flowers, trees and grasses were to be planted in an around the school to promote beautification as well as environmental conservation.
Chris Eweillar, the MSF Projects Co-ordinator, says the humanitarian agency had earlier conducted research and established that many adolescents in the district did not have a facility where they could ably explain their health challenges.
Masaka regional referral Hospital Director Dr Nathan Onyachi also says that the facility will be used as a model unit in Masaka region so that other lower units can take up the practice of keeping preterm babies warm since health units in rural areas don’t have electricity to run incubators.
