Mbarara City Central Market is being constructed under the Markets Agriculture Trade Improvement Programme (MATIP) and funded by the African Development Bank.
In the changes, Florence Atii, the female Councillor representing workers who initially was the Secretary for Production and Marketing and Fred Peter Erwono, the district youth Councillor who was the Secretary for Works and Technical Services, were both relieved of their duties.
According to Sarah Nalugooti and her husband John Baptist Musoke, the caretakers of the 2-acre graveyard land, they have lost three people since 2019 but since the compensation is delayed, they have no money to buy another piece of land to relocate the remains of the deceased.
