Christopher Opiyo Ateke, the incoming Gulu District Chairman says there is a very big difference between the running budget and the one for the next financial year and that the operation of the district will not be easy.
The exercise involves a meeting of key stakeholders including municipal council technical staff, head of sections in the market and allocation of space to the vendors.
According to Lapyem, the district initially used to allocate a shillings 63,000,000 of their budget on wages and facilitation for district councilors in each financial year but with the number increasing from 23 to 42 leaders implies that their entitlement would require shillings 132,000,000 translating to a shillings 69,000,000 funding gap.
Magyezi, who had been invited by the Tooro king, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, said the ministry is so willing to be a kingdom’s development partner and he will be sending technical people to assess the projects that are underway for support.
