Some 3,675 people were registered within the Municipality to get the 100,000 Shillings cash relief for those whose daily earnings were affected by the 42 days’ lockdown instituted by the government.
The Deputy District Health Officer for Buikwe Dr. Bruno Kiyonga notes that since the second wave was declared in the country, the district has registered about 500 positive cases bringing the figure to 622 but only 152 people are under monitored home based care while 58 are admitted.

The sub-county speaker, Ronald Augustine Musoke, says that several COVID-19 activities in different areas are at standstill due to lack of facilitation because of the misappropriation of the funds.
According to Eswelu, they failed to collect sufficient local revenue because of the low revenue base. He revealed that revenue collection in the district dropped from over Shillings 1Billion to Shillings 426Million, which he attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic and creation of Terego district and Arua City hence denying them some sources of revenue.
