Dr. Samuel Siminyu, the Managing editor of Makerere University press, says that they run under the mandate of supporting staff and students with publishing books and need a minimum of Shillings 1 Billion annually for their activities.
The beneficiaries from seven parishes are yet to receive the funds. The Parishes include Kapyani in Nankodo sub county, Namawondo in Kibuku town council, Kadoto, in Bulangila town council, Kabusule in Nabiswa sub county, Nanoko parish in Lwatama sub county.
Frances Atima, the Commissioner of Education Standards in the Ministry of Education and Sports, says that the training is meant to take the inspectors through the newly developed Teacher Effectiveness and Learners Achievement (TELA) system.
Moses Chemonges, one of the residents told URN that they will only open the offices after the interdiction or transfer of the town clerk and the CDO. He said that they are ready to torch the offices should the officers force their way in.
