The Ministry of Education and National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) have explained that they cannot do much about pre- entry exams in universities.
The new budget allocation to the sector represents an increment of 504.6 billion from the current financial year 2018/2019 sector budget of 2.78 trillion shillings.
Justice Paul Mugamba said the presence of the military at Parliament during discussion of the bill that led to the assault of several legislators opposed to the bill was uncalled for.
Justice Mwanguhya however, declined to pronounce himself on the allegations that MPs were bribed to support the bill, saying it is the role of the Auditor General to do so. Each MP received Shillings 29M as facilitation to consult voters on the bill

Prof. Jasper Ogwal noted with concern the reduction of their budget from Shillings 17.5 billion this financial year to Shillings 16.9 billion in the next financial year.
The Uganda Road Fund Act, 2008 gives URF the mandate to finance road maintenance of public roads and related activities. It allocates funds to agencies and local governments.
